Pilon, Germain
(1535, París, Francia–3 feb. 1590, París).

Escultor francés. Su decoración para el sepulcro de Francisco I (1558), una obra relativamente temprana, muestra influencia italiana; sin embargo, posteriormente desarrolló una expresividad distintivamente francesa, al fusionar elementos del arte clásico y gótico con la adaptación de Fontainebleau del manierismo. Sus trabajos más conocidos son las esculturas funerarias para Enrique II y Catalina de Médicis en Saint Denis (1561–70). Su obra representa la transición entre la tradición del arte gótico y la escultura del barroco.
